A Little Background on Dana Katz

Those of you who knew Dana knew her passion for the ocean, fishing, and diving. From swordfish to snapper, she loved it all… but nothing fired her up quite as much as the chaos and pure frenzy of getting into a school of yellowfin tuna. Any chance she and Kyle got, they were hauling ass on a pre-dawn summer morning headed for the Bahamas to chase that rush – and always excited for friends and family to join and share it with. Her Instagram account showed her vigor about living.

Dana’s Annual Tuna Frenzy is so much more than a fishing tournament. It’s a celebration of a life lived so fully and with such passion for who and what she loved most. Anyone who was lucky enough to call Dana family or a friend knows that she would go to the ends of the earth for her people. Her fun-loving personality and quick-witted humor added a special Dana zest to any fishing trip that would leave your stomach sore from belly laughing by the time you got back to the dock.

This July, we ask that you please join us in celebrating Dana’s life and what would have been her 32nd Birthday on July 19th, 2023. We are so grateful to the fishing community for wrapping their arms around Dana’s family and friends and jumping at the opportunity to sponsor, donate and support this first annual event. We don’t know how to begin thanking you for your kindness and generosity, but please know how appreciative and honored we are to have you take part in this event.
